To answer this question personally, it would be a no for me dawg. First of all? if a person loves you, they wouldn't have you risk anything they love for them. If you love a person you should be the one to encourage them to pursue what they want out of life. If I was put in this type of situation declining my scholarship for my partner would probably be something I regret. You don't know how the future with your partner could turn out but with a scholarship, you know that the future ahead of you is set for something great. Don't get me wrong choosing between leaving your partner or staying is a tough decision because your career and partner is something you both love. Still, your partner should want you to do what you love.
If you're with someone and they can't respect the fact that you're busy but it's for your benefit, they don't deserve you. We all have dreams, we have goals, and we have certain steps we want to accomplish to move forward. With this being said, we all do want the feeling of someone being there, being our number one fan or being there to give us that extra push. That type of love is a great love because you know you have someone in your corner even when you feel like giving up. Those who can't appreciate the fact that you're working hard to make things happen for not them but for the both of you, that's negative. Negative people will always have something to say about what you're doing because they wish they had the same ambition. Also, those type of people want to see you fail to justify the negative things they say.
Always keep a good person around who wants to see you succeed and make sure you want to the same for that person. The feeling should be mutual but to risk it all, it shouldn't be that way. Think about this. What are they doing for you, that would cause you to risk your whole future to be with them? Do they have something different that could give you both a break? Could they change your life around for the better? Overall, what steps or risks are they taking for you or for the both of you? If you can't answer these questions, you have to make the better choice and you have to reevaluate what you're doing.
March 25th I had the chance to attend These Pink Lips' event showcasing art and fashion. I have to say it was such an amazing event and hopefully there will be another. Everything just looked fabulous. The models were beautiful and what I loved the most was the art. The paintings were so vibrant, huge and full of color. They showed character and if I had the chance, I would have purchased every painting to hang in my room. They were gorgeous.
Now to the fashion, I've been a fan of These Pink Lips for a very long time. I remember the first time I saw the clothing, I saw "Pussy" on it and was somewhat shocked but more intrigued. What I love seeing the most are the shirts that say "Pussy Not War". I love the colors and designs of each shirt with this slogan. Also another one of my faves is "Goal Digger". Overall I love the whole line and what it stands for because it represents the empowerment of women. Women need to be recognized more for what they do and some of us need to realize the power that we have.
Again, the event was amazing. In addition shoutout to the beautiful owner Iris. She looked so amazing in her outfit respresentining herself and SLAYING, if I must say. I enjoyed the aura of the event as well and seeing not just the canvas paintings but the art along the walls. Especially because there was so much pink which happens to be my favorite color. I hope to be there for another event. Amazing work!!!
This is such a shame that none of these women have been talked about or no one, not even the cops are making the effort to find them. Why? Again because the system is against us. I just want to ask the people who are doing this to our sisters, why? If you don't like us, why bother us? If you don't like us, why don't YOU move to another country? If you don't like us, why are you really kidnapping us? I mean it's crazy how they find a jersey, a damn jersey jersey but not one of these women. Not even an Amber Alert was sent out. What's going on right now, is very important and we have to keep our eyes and ears open. We have to be very observant and protect ourselves. Black lives don't matter as much and this is making it more clear.
So, do what do we do? I wish I could say send out a search party but that doesn't seem to matter. As I said before, we have to protect one another. We have to sit with our families and come up with plans just in case this could be one of us. The rate of the women are going up each day. It's a shame!!! I even fear for my own life. I'm not trying to be dramatic but this can happen anywhere and that's the reality. Just because it's happening in D.C. doesn't mean it can't happen in Philly. Some days I have to leave the house by 6a (while it's still dark) and there are nights I get off at 11p making it home by 12a. Who knows what's going to happen?
I ask that everyone keep watching out for information about our young women, black men protect the black women and be safe as much as possible. The black community has to come together and show people, especially the system and the media that this is a serious matter. Remember anything can happen to any of us. Be careful, watch your surroundings and STAY PROTECTED AT ALL TIMES!!!
Tonight I gave this album a second go. When I first heard it, I listened to "Free Smoke" and I went through the other songs to listen just a tad bit to get a feel of it. I'm not even going to lie to y'all, I really wasn't feeling it. At first I felt that but I thought let me give Drake a chance because he does have a great music and does work hard for us to keep appreciating it. So, I let the album play and I actually began to get jiggy with it. I do like it. I think it was the reggae part of the album that was turning me off.
I don't know what it is about Drake and Tory Lanez using samples on their songs but I love when Drake does it. That's not to downplay Tory though. Drake always samples some of the best songs from the early 2000s and never disappoints. I do feel like "Views" was a tad bit better but just a tad bit because Drake always makes sure he adds new sounds. His music is so good every girl or guy just HAS to have a caption under their IG pic quoting him.
I'm definitely "here for it", so the children say lol. Also the beats are fire and his flow is different. I feel like he's going through a break up and he wants to go a little bit harder but that's just me y'all lol. I don't know Drake, I'm just explaining the feel of it. I would give this is More Life for me. I thought we were losing Drake but he still has his cool points so this one's a go. To listen to his new music you can go to iTunes!
Excuse my face lol but new interview with Chan the Don of Plug Magazine and Early BBQ has now launched! We talk about her magazine, where she plans to go with it and her career in the future.
Make sure you check it out now!!! As I say, you don't want to miss this!!!
Do you want to keep thinking that life is about working and paying bills? Of course we need a job to get paid and pay bills but who wants to just be known for that? I'm sure you and nobody else does. There are people out here who get discouraged that thinking where they are is the end. It only becomes the end if think you can't go any farther. You really can if you know what you're capable of and the greatness that you have. You have to first know who are you as a person, where you want to go in life and the steps you want to take. To get there you have get rid of some things and some people. Though keeping things in the past is not the easiest, you'll thank yourself in the end for letting it go.
Honestly, what are you thinking about when you wake up? Do you just want to wake up have "a day" or do you want to wake up, take risks and be able to say that you did more than one thing in life? Everybody has a dream and they can fulfill it. The problem with this world is that people get stuck with thinking one way and conditioned to believe it's "too hard" to do what they love. Things only become hard if you make them that way. The people that you see on tv or hear about didn't become who they are off of easy work. Some of the people didn't even become something to the world until after 30. Sometimes it's not about the path you WANT to take.
Don't ever think you have to follow the rules all of the time. Sometimes rules get broken and the results become great. You have to take certain risks in life and tell a story about it. You don't want to be on your death bed wishing you could have did so many things. Anybody can do anything they want, as long as they put their mind to it.
Honestly ... get yo ass up! You have things to do!!!
Ladies, ladies ladies, this one is for you. I always see people making videos saying "Don't fuck for free". That statement in itself always made me think well damn is the girl supposed to sell her most scared possession just for the money? Then, as I become "woke" I see what people mean by that. If a man wants you but has nothing to offer why would you or why should be laying down with him? Especially if you have kids. If he doesn't contribute to anything as far as you, isn't that much accepting of your kids and lays around the house eating the kid's food, what value does he bring?
I always hear about women bringing a different spouse around to keep them happy but what makes it worst is the fact that he's around the kids. What kids see, they will follow and grow up with that mindset. It's up to you or the kids to break the cycle of bringing bad energy into the home your building. A home is just not a home. A home is built on foundation love, respect, honor, care and most importantly love. Not to get all deep here and preach but I'm all for talking about knowing your worth. That's what your supposed to do, especially women. Why do women get into the habit and cycle of trying to find this "good man" but get so easily wrapped up in these illusions? Just because he's around physically doesn't mean anything. Ask yourself what is he really doing?
For example, Baby Boy. Now think about what the character Jodi was representing. A black man with no job, two baby moms, treating them like shit but eating their food, using the car and away from them all day making them worry about where he is and what he's doing. Don't get me wrong he did love his kids but what was he really providing besides boosting and what example was he setting around his OWN kids? Think about it. Now back to reality. So when you feel like you someone think twice. Think about how they could benefit you and if you have kids, think about m are they even worthy to be around them. When it comes to the kids, you can't have everybody around them for safety reasons and it's all about what they see. In addition, how they will end being like as adults.
Long story short, build that table, make it up but don't have nobody sitting there if they couldn't even provide a seat. Message!
Lil Uzi hair dropped a new song and video. You know how I feel about Uzi. He's a different kind of guy and is in his own lane when it comes to music. I'm not saying he's the greatest of all time but he's different as an individual as well. I've listened to the track and watched the video numerous times to get a gist of the song but I think it's one of those songs where you get lost in it. If you look in the background, you can see the hypnosis behind him and the transparent galaxy that's showing through him.
When you listen to the beat but listen to the words more, you know that's he's going through something with a girl and now every dude in the hood who loves Uzi is about to sing this to their gf. I do like the song because it's mellowed out, you can still bop your head to it and it's worth listening to. Another thing I like about Uzi is that he never stops working and when he does work he's making sure he's putting out songs that the people will definitely get a kick out of. Good one Uzi!!!
You ever feel so lost that you feel like you can't shake the feeling or the people that you love just aren't in your corner? Yes? Well, we all have felt that way but why do you feel that way? 9 times out of 10 we don't understand our purpose and feel that the people around us should help us find that purpose. The reality is, we have to be the ones to understand our purpose and fullfil it. Also we get caught up in people that mean us no good, we are surrounded by the wrong energy and we depend on the words of people instead of the Word of God. You put Him first, you'll realize a lot of blessings will fall into your lap and the grind becomes so much easier.
We have to eliminate the things that are distracting us and not benefitting us. You ever find yourself talking about the same person or thing all the time but you have nothing positive to say about it or them? If that's the case, that's someone or something you need to get rid of. Don't ever feel that you're OBLIGATED to stay around because that's being desperate. You always have to put your worth before others. Once you know your worth you'll know how to rid the things that mean you no good. We all get into the habit of overthinking things, talking about it over and over but it doesn't help anything. We have to instill something positive in ourselves to release it in the universe for us to bypass that negative energy.
We no longer can sit around and ask ourselves why this or why that? We don't always have the answers to why but if we sit around and do nothing the outcome is NOTHING. To see change, you have to be the change and you can't sit around people who don't have the motivation to get up and do something. No matter what you do, if you love it, work hard for it and NEVER let anyone put you down for being who you are. We live in a really backwards generation, where the right thing is corny and being tough is accepted. The world is tough but that doesn't mean you should stop caring, loving, or being there for others. Don't let the world break you down.
"Ain't nobody got time for that negative shit." - Kenlo 💯
Aside from the Nicki Minaj and Remy beef, our guy Frank Ocean is back with another hit and this time I'm excited. When 'Blonde' came out I was hoping I would get the same vibes as 'Channel Orange' . I did like it, don't get me wrong but Frank Ocean is a passionate artists and he's the type of artists that will have you singing all of his songs. For example, one of my favorite songs on that album was 'Pyramids'. That was the type of song you could sing over and over, he was gone for a minute but you still remembered. With this song Chanel, you can also sing it over and over and get the little messages he's telling us. Another example, because we know his sexuality, what do you think "Both sides like Chanel" means? Don't think too hard now lol.
Chanel is a hit and I give it five stars. I miss and love Frank's voice. He has a different sound, and how he sings is soothing to the mind and soul. When he sings, he puts his emotions in it and if anyone can relate we all need to do that at times but why not do with it Frank ya know? Oh what else? Listen man ... 👇🏾
The song is available on iTunes right now!!! Check it out!!
