Background of Nat Turner: "The Birth of A Nation" told the story of a slave named Nathaniel Turner. He was a born slave from Southampton County, Virginia. As a young child he learned how to read and write. What he learned most was how to read the Bible. When he became an adult he became a preacher and preached to his fellow slaves. Because of this, they looked at him as a Prophet.
Due to how he and his fellow slaves (including his family) were being treated, he planned a rebellion that made a mark in history. The rebellion included him and sixty five other men gathered together to fight against their master's because of brutal treatment and to become free. Nat and the other men gathered weapons, went to different plantations and murdered their masters including their families. Along with these murders they set other slaves free. Because of the rebellion, about 200 African Americans who had nothing to do with it, were murdered without a valid reason.
The men who accompanied Nat in the rebellion, were murdered, sold to other states or acquitted. As for Nat Turner , he was put on trial and hung to death. For his resistant act he is labeled today as a hero.
Movie Review: The movie was very good and Nate Parker (guy in the picture) who played Nat Turner really got into character to give us who Nat Turner was. A lot of these scenes were very emotional because you were taught (if you did not know) about how blacks were truly treated as slaves. Being a slave was not just about being held captive. Being a slave, you had to stick by your family, you had to protect yourself and and your family and fight for your life every day. This movie is a must see and you will get a better understanding as to why blacks we should defend and be there for our people. Lastly, remember why Black Lives Matter ✊🏾

I thought this was a good question. Would you actually have a sit down with the person who hurt you to understand why they hurt you? I think I could because there is not a definite answer that I have gotten only because I want to know to get confirmation. The best closure I have gotten was blocking the person because if they can not tell me then there is no point.
Sometimes people leave with unanswered questions but I do not think going back for answers right out of the relationship would work. Once you leave the relationship for good the beginning of going through the break up is hard because that is the person who you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. That is also the person you thought was the one for you. While you may have these thoughts sometimes that person may have wanted something different and did not know how to tell you which is why they hurt you.
In some cases a person will tell you what they want but remember that you have the choice of dealing or not. If you two feel like things could be taken to another level there is nothing wrong with trying but keep in mind what the person wanted out of the relationship. Those who do not even want a relationship begin to catch feelings and do not know how to handle them and that could make things fail. Still what is the real answer as to why someone would really want to hurt someone who was down for them through whatever? Why was it not you? Why come back repeatedly to hurt someone, apologize and do it again?
I have thought about these questions time and time again but because I know I'm not going to get that definite answer that was the best answer. Sometimes no answer is the best answer.
Are you actually single until marriage? I used to think this was not true but I am starting to believe it. People have to live up to what they're saying while being in a relationship. If you're willing to be there for someone you have to remember there are some things that come with the person that you are with. Are you willing to deal with that though? Think about that.
Some people just think while being with someone you sleep with them, have sex with them, and go out on dates. Two people coming to together are complimenting one another and helping them grow. What do they do to make you happy? Is it about the small or the big things? Can you see them in your furture? What are you willing to risk for them if you're taking them that serious? These are just some of the questions you should think about when you consider being in a relationship.
To be single means that you could also date but if you see yourself with this person for a while, you do not want to jeopardize what you two have. All relationships will not be perfect. If they are, that means it is not real. While you are with someone do not think your life stops. You did not know this person before you met and if you two happen to break up it is NOT the end of the world. Think of it as the beginning of a new one. Two people are individuals and still figuring out who they are. Also you can not be bonded if you have not figured out your life first. You can not love anyone if you are confused. Until someone can live up to what they say and proves it, you are single until marriage.
So this here post is for all of my ladies who knows they don't need a man. Also for the ones who feel like they aren't getting treated like the queen they are.
Ladies, we are emotional humans and sometimes we do so much for someone that we love and end up losing ourselves. Sometimes we feel like we can't live without that person or feel powerless. Really ladies, we make the world go round. We run the world. I mean what would men do without us? Ya know? Lol. Seriously never feel like you can't be the best woman that you can be. As women, we should take pride in so much that we are capable of and remember so much of what we go through. Constantly women get blamed for rape, they carry another human for nine months and sometimes are treated unfairly at the work place. The list goes on.
Day in and day out we get talked about negatively (Trump's hatin' ass) and men look at us like we aren't capable of being indedependent. Hey girlfriend....better yet hey beautiful I want you tell yourself, that you are powerful and beautiful and you can do anything that you put your mind to. Whatever makes you happy, whatever you love to do and if you have big dreams don't be afraid to go for it. You have the ability to be who you are. Even if you want to grow up to be princess, DO YOU BOO BOO!!!! Oh and another thing never be afraid to treat yourself! You deserve it. Pick your head up because you don't want your crown to fall. Love you ❤️

Listen, Young M.A is heavily slept on and if you're still stuck on her famous track it's time to tune into something different. She's a problem. I'm not sure why people think she writes her own lyrics. To be honest I think it's because of her sexuality and because she's a female, and some dudes are intimidated by that. I hear a lot of guys say that say she's corny or that doesn't write her own material.
I beg to differ. I don't think that she try's to be anything that she's not or she writes her lyrics. Why? It's her demeanor and how she talks. Do I know her? No, but let's not pretend that we never saw a lesbian or a woman who dressed tom boyish in the game before. For example, Da Brat. I was quite a baby when she came into the game. I wonder if people judged her the same way they judge Young M.A. She's been out for a little while now. The first video I've ever saw of Young M.A was on Facebook. I listened and watched but didn't think too much of it. I saw more of her and when "Ouuuu" was being played all over I didn't even know that was her. From there I wass intrigued.
Recently we've seen her on the BET Hip Hop Awards and according to her that wasn't all of her cypher. The parts that we did hear were not left unnoticed but to be honest she can spit. She has a nice flow, endless metaphors and the way she puts it all together makes you want to hear more. I can see her going far in the rap game if people look at her music and look pass who she personally is other than a rapper. Another recent video and song from her as you can see is above this post!!! What do I think? It's hot!!! How hot? Fire!!! Young M.A is a problem!!! Make sure you check out her video!
Listen, some cases in life you have to stop fighting for things that are NOT meant for you. We don't always have to have the same friends, do the same things with them or keep living life on repeat. Don't keep holding on to something that means you no good. Sometimes it hurts more when holding when the best relief is letting go.
Never press the issue!!! The more you press the issue, the more you look desperate and looking for a certain type of attention from someone or a crowd that you don't even fit into. Who said that you couldn't be yourself? Who said that it's not ok to grow? Who said that you can't express who you are? Don't let people who don't value you or the person you are have a spot in your head or life.
Live every day likes it's your last because life isn't lived if you don't take risks. I'm learning that every day. Are you young? Love and love your life. Shit, even if your old love and live until you can't anymore. Don't hang onto anything or anybody that isn't helping you be the next best thing. If you can't even give the same love in return then you aren't getting the right energy. Level up your mind, body and spirit. Be the best you and stay true to yourself! Fall back fam. Do you.
Tommy Ford of "Martin" has passed away. Who would have thought it would be him? I'm actually shocked and a little saddened. He played his role so well but now that's he has passed and to see him on television it's kind of breaks your heart. So many people (around my age at least) have grown up to watch him every night but when God says it's time we have to listen.
Just to give a little back ground on Tommy. He starred in "Martin" (which we know), "New York Undercover", "Bill Belamy's: Who's Got Jokes?", "Harlem Nights" and many more. Also if you didn't know he also starred on "The Parkers" as Mel Parker (Kim's father).
Some of his close colleagues have posted about him on social media and from what you can see he was a great man and loved by many. Prayers and love go to his family. Rest Easy Tommy ✊🏾
Let's all give it up to Solange for making number 1 album in America!!! I was looking at so many posts of her new album but didn't get the time to really listen to it. Here and there I was seeing visuals which were pretty cool too. Beyoncé and Solange with those visuals right?
This song right here happens to be my favorite so far. You ever listen to a song and begin to stare into space or go into deep thought? Yes? Well this song definitely does that to me. Solange and her voice are so angelic. I feel at peace while I'm listening to the album. I've always liked Solange and I truly believe that she's an underrated artist. We know who she is but we don't grasp the art that she possess'. Solange is very talented and this is her third album. She made it a great one at that! If you haven't checked out her album, you should and trust me you will NOT be disappointed.
Solange has one of those souls that you can't get enough of. Once you get exposed to who she is and how great her spirit is through her voice and songs you want to hear more and see what else she has in store. Congrats Solange!
If you don't have Apple Music, check her album out here!!!

I cannot imagine waking up to a natural disaster taking away my family and I. I just can't. I heard about the disaster happening in Haiti through social media. What's so messed up is that the news had little to say about it. You didn't hear about how they can help, what anybody can do just only what they're going through. When Paris got bombed people wanted to say pray for them, show the people of France praying and talked about it everyday. Understand that when it comes to people of color the media and the system could care less.
People in Haiti are still suffering and trying to save their lives and their families. What I have read so far is that over 800 people have passed away. Sad!!! I would hit you all with FACTS but I'm not because from these pictures that are being shown all over the world you can just tell horrific it is. Please let us all pray for Haiti and the people there!
We have no reason to complain!
