Hey everyone, I'm back with another post and if you get offended by this I'm sorry that you feel that way but what's going on today's world is very important. In other posts I have mentioned police brutality and how it affects the black community negatively. Though I am against police brutality we have to think about what is going on in the black communities as well. We have to have more respect with ourselves and within the community.
The fact of the matter is by looking at these statistics above, it is clear that we are killing each other way too often. We protest, we walk and cause riots to get respect but simply we do not respect ourselves. Don't get me wrong, police brutality is wrong and it shouldn't happen. We have to take a look at the bigger picture too. We see most of these videos and say, "They killed that man" or "They killed that woman for no reason". Again, "For no reason". Then in our own community because someone has a nice outfit, nice shoes or looks at someone wrong, a gun is whipped out and another funeral is happening? Why did they get killed? "For no reason".
The reality is, is that we all are equal and we shouldn't be against each other but this world is broken into groups? Why because that's how man made it. Because we are broken into groups we are looking at each other differently thinking that one group is better or different from the other groups who uses us to become judgmental of one another. In addition, we begin to think too less or think too high of ourselves. For example, in the black community how many times does a dark skin woman need to hear, "You're cute for a dark skin girl". Then how many times does a light skin woman need to hear, "You're being light skin"? Dark skin or light skin, we are still black.
The the change of police brutality is going to change is if we change within our community. As long as we think it is fine to kill one another that gives other people outside this race or the police a justification to kill us too. We know better so we should do better.
